Virginia Kubisiak

Virginia “Sis” Kubisiak, 89, Plover, diedTuesday, Sept. 20,
2016, in the emergency room at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital. She had been at
the Atrium Care Center for six days. She had suffered from dementia since 2010
and had been kept at home under the care of her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday,
Sept. 26, at St. Stanislaus Church of Holy Spirit Parish, with the Rev. Thomas
Lindner officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until
the Mass.

Mrs. Kubisiak was born Dec. 29, 1926, in Stevens Point, a daughter
of the late William and Alice (Stroik) Leo. She was a 1945 graduate of P.J.
Jacobs High School.
She worked for Hardware Mutual (now Sentry Insurance) after
graduation until her marriage.
She was married to E.J. “Pat” Kubisiak Nov. 22, 1947, at St.
Stanislaus Catholic Church. He died Dec. 5, 2015.
The couple settled in Stevens Point and raised their family,
including her younger brother, James, who was age 12 when their parents died.
She worked at Portesi Pizza manually wrapping pizzas, then
became a homemaker after her children were born.
She was a member of the Rosary Society at St. Stanislaus for
68 years. She was an assistant Girl Scout leader and a charter member of the Wisconsin
River Country Club for 15 years, serving as hostess chairman for the ladies
golf league.She was also a member of the Stevens Point Country Club, golfing in
the Wednesday Ladies League.
Survivors include one daughter, Vicki (Dick) Schultz; one son,
Mark; one sister, Dolly Miskowski; one brother, Gary Leo; one sister-in-law,
Leone Clune; nieces; and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Brian Keith
Schultz; one brother, Dr. James A. Leo; and two brothers-in-law, Donald
Miskowski and Chester Kubisiak.
