Ice Age Trail Hike-A-Thon: 30 years of linking glacier beauty

Winding along the eastern boundary – and dancing across the line – of Portage County is a small portion of what some hikers call one of the most beautiful trails in the area, and next month’s annual Ice Age Trail Hike-A-Thon will help celebrate it.
“People are interested in it and using the trail, particularly the one that connects Hartman Creek to the north and south – there’s that focal point with the state park there,” said Marty Wacker, treasurer for the Portage County Chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance. “There are very scenic areas.”
