The Stevens Point City Times is seeking a community-minded multimedia reporter to cover local youth/high school sports, as well as community feature stories, beginning immediately.

This long-term position is freelance and the ideal candidate will live within the immediate Stevens Point/Plover area.

The ideal candidate will already know the community, and be familiar with local sports and related terminology. He or she should also have their own camera, take engaging photos and have the ability to create short videos, as well as crafting well-written and complete stories on a deadline.

Working hours include weekends and some evenings. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a high level of independence and ethics. Pay commensurate with experience.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation with insurance, and be able to pass a background check. Candidates should also have experience writing in AP Style and have at least some college experience.

Previous news reporting experience preferred but will train the right individual.

The City Times, the largest newspaper in Portage Co., was created in 2010 by SPASH graduates and continues to be a family-owned publication.
