Ruth V. Hetze

Ruth V. Hetze, 96, Plover, formerly of Junction City, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016l, at Maple Ridge of Plover Community Based Residential Facility.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City, with Rev. Mark Lundgren and Rev. Dr. Timothy Roser officiating. Burial will be held in Union Cemetery, Milladore.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 p.m. Friday until service time at Martens / Rembs Funeral Home.

Ruth was born Feb. 23, 1920, in New Rome, a daughter to the late William and Vinnie (Shenk) Burhite.

She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Wood County Normal School in Wisconsin Rapids.

She married Robert C. Hetze Oct. 4, 1943, in Wisconsin Rapids. He died Feb. 11, 2009.

Together they farmed in the town of Sherry for many years before retiring. She also taught grade school, Sunday school and Vacation Bible School as well as working at a bakery and seasonally at Urban Greenhouse.

She is survived by a two sons, Charles (Kay) Hetze, Fairbanks, Ark., and Paul (JoAnn) Hetze, Wisconsin Rapids; a brother, Frank (Vera) Burhite, Birchwood; a sister, Hazel Parkinson, Appleton; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was also predeceased in death by four grandchildren; a daughter, Sandra; two sisters and two brothers.
