Carol A. Borchert, 70, Waupaca, a former Amherst resident and the mother of two Portage County men, died unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at her home in Waupaca.

A memorial service was held Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst, with the Rev. Amalraj Roche officiating. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst.

Visitation was at the funeral home Thursday.

Mrs. Borchert was born Feb. 18, 1946, in McHenry, Ill., a daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Kenowski) Loecher.

She was married to Herbert E. Borchert Nov. 24, 1962, at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert Borchert, Waupaca; two sons, Joey Borchert, Plover, and Tod (Deborah) Borchert, Stevens Point; four sisters, Sandy (Eddie) Karch, Rosholt, Judi Marquard and Diane (Pat) Stuczynski, both of Amherst, and Patt (George Pliska) Loecher, Stevens Point; two brothers, Jim (Sally) Loecher, Waupaca, and Tim (Patti) Loecher, Kewaunee; one grandson; two stepgrandchildren; and seven great-stepgrandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, John Lee Borchert; one sister, Ramona Zblewski; and one brother, David Loecher.
