Lawrence F. Karch, 79, Rosholt, a former owner of Karch’s Willow Inn in Rosholt, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at his home.

Visitation was at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca Thursday, Sept. 29.

A committal service and military honors were held Thursday at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King.

Mr. Karch was born Oct. 24, 1936, in Milwaukee, a son of the late Felix and Antonette (Gorecki) Karch.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1957, served in Vietnam from 1969-1970 and retired in 1976 after 20 years of service.

While stationed in Germany, he was married to Dorothea “Doris” Seitz Jan. 9, 1959, in Nuremberg, Germany.

Upon retirement, they bought Karch’s Willow Inn in Rosholt, which they operated until 1995.

He and his wife volunteered at the American Legion Post 509, of which he was a member. He was also a member of the Elks Club, Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 185 and Elderon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8068.

Survivors include his wife, Doris; three children, Larry Jr., David (Denise) and Donna Lochner (Craig) Weborg; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Karch; two brothers, Chet and Mike; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry, Leroy and Don; one son-in-law, Dodd Lochner; and one grandson.
