Pacelli football will host top-ranked Amherst Friday
The top-ranked Amherst High School football team (5-1, 3-0) will look to clinch a playoff berth when it takes on Pacelli (2-4, 1-2) at Community Stadium at Goerke Field Friday, Sept. 30.
The 10th-ranked Almond-Bancroft (5-1, 2-1) football team will host Tri-County (3-3, 2-1) in its Homecoming Game at 7 p.m. Friday, Rosholt (0-6, 0-4) will travel to take on eighth ranked Wild Rose (6-0, 3-0) at 7 p.m. Friday and Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) (5-1, 4-1) will also have a chance to clinch a playoff berth when it hits the road to play Marshfield (2-4, 1-4) at 7 p.m. Friday.
Following a 48-6 loss at Iola-Scandinavia (5-1, 3-0), the eighth-ranked team in Division 6, Pacelli will host Amherst at 7 p.m. Friday.
“Amherst obviously is the defending Division 5 State Champion, and they’ve got one loss on the year to St. Mary Springs, who is arguably the best team in Division 6,” said Pacelli football head coach Drew Nelson. “So we’re going to have our hands full.
