Ruth V. Hetze

Ruth V. Hetze, 96, Plover, formerly of Junction City, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at Maple Ridge of Plover Community Based Residential Facility.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at Martens/Rembs Funeral Home in Junction City, with the Rev. Mark Lundgren and the Rev. Dr. Timothy Roser officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Milladore.
The family will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. Friday until the service.

Mrs. Hetze was born Feb. 23, 1920, in New Rome in Adams County, a daughter to the late William and Vinnie (Shenk) Burhite. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Wood County Normal School in Wisconsin Rapids.
She was married to Robert C. Hetze Oct. 4, 1943, in Wisconsin Rapids. He died Feb. 11, 2009.
They farmed together in the town of Sherry in Wood County for many years before retiring.
She also taught grade school, Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, as well as working at a bakery and seasonally at Urban Greenhouse.
Survivors include two sons, Charles (Kay) Hetze, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Paul (JoAnn) Hetze, Wisconsin Rapids; one brother, Frank (Vera) Burhite, Birchwood; one sister, Hazel Parkinson, Appleton; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra; two sisters; two brothers; and four grandchildren.
