Richard F. Witt, 74, Rudolph, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at Aspirus-Wausau Hospital in Wausau.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Rudolph, with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Rudolph, with military honors performed by American Legion Post 485.

Visitation will be at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the Mass.

Mr. Witt was born June 30, 1942, in Milladore, a son of the
late Frank and Julia (Mancl) Witt. He graduated from Auburndale High School as
a member of the class of 1960.

After high school, he started working for the Wood County
Highway Department.

He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.

He was married to Karlyn Jacob July 30, 1966, at St. Philip
the Apostle Catholic Church in Rudolph. They were married for 50 years.

After military service, he returned to the highway
department, then worked at CW Transport Company and completed his working
career at Con-Way Trucking Company.

He was currently a Rudolph Town supervisor, the president of
the Wood County Towns Association and a member of the Wood County Civil Service
Commission. He was an active member of American Legion Post 485 in Rudolph, and
a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Karlyn; four siblings, Rose
(Carl) Schaetz, Dorothy (Leroy) Spatz, Aggie Smazal and Lydia Albert; and many
nieces and nephews.
