James G.
“Jim” Weisbrod, 83, Stevens Point, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, after
complications of an illness.


A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at St. Stephen
Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiating. Burial will be in
Guardian Angel Cemetery.


Visitation
will be at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday.

Funeral Home & Crematory in Stevens Point and Plover assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at
www.shudafuneral.com.


Mr.
Weisbrod was born March 10, 1933, a son of the late Leo and Sophie Weisbrod. He
graduated from P. J. Jacobs High School and played trumpet in the school band.


He was
married to Theresa L. Swiander. She died Nov. 2, 2014.


He worked
at Sentry Insurance Co.
and later retired as a sales
manager from Gerber Products Co.


He played
in a polka band with Benny Gagas and later played and sang with the “Polka
Stars.” He authored and recorded his own version of the song “Little Brown
Jug.”


Survivors
include four children, Diane Nakama, Gary (Cindy) Weisbrod, Randy (Linda)
Weisbrod and Pam (Ron) Weisbrod; nine grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.


He was
also preceded in death by one sister, Rosalie Slattery; and two sons, James and
Daniel.
