Patricia M. Whelihan-Geraghty, 77, Stevens Point, died at her
home Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, after a battle with cancer.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday,
Oct. 10, at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Burial will take
place in the parish cemetery.


Visitation will be at the Pisarski Funeral Home in Stevens
Point from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Monday until
the Mass. A rosary will be prayed to conclude the visitation at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Mrs. Whelihan-Geraghty was born Sept. 14, 1939, in Wisconsin
Rapids, a daughter of the late Jerome and Christine (Pelot) Zimmerman. She
graduated from Maria High School in 1957 and St. Mary’s School of Nursing in
1960.


She was a registered nurse in long-term care for 17 years
before she left the profession to take care of her family. When she returned to
nursing, she was an in-service coordinator and taught nursing assistant classes
at River Pines in Stevens Point and at Lakeview Manor in Weyauwega. She was
also a care coordinator at Lakeview Manor. She retired in 1998.


She was married to Thomas Whelihan June 23, 1962. He died
Aug. 18, 1993.


She was married to Thomas Geraghty July 5, 1997. He died June
7, 2010.


She was a star bowler with three 600 series, a Eucharistic
minister for 10 years, taught CCD and was a den mother.


Survivors include three children, Christopher (Dina)
Whelihan, Scottsdale, Ariz., Todd (Melinda) Whelihan, Stevens Point, and Nicole
Whelihan, Stevens Point; two sisters, June (Michael) Uss, Onalaska, and Mary
(Peter) Brill, Whitefish Bay; one brother, Michael (Barb) Zimmerman, West
Dundee, Ill.; and four grandchildren.


She was also preceded in death by one brother, Roger
Zimmerman; and one granddaughter.
