Plover Fire Dept. to Hold Open House

The Plover Fire Department is holding an open house on Oct. 12 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
The event helps celebrate the 2016 Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 9-15), which, according to the National Fire Protection Association has a theme of “Don’t Wait – Check the Date! Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years.”
Free smoke detectors and batteries will be available during the event, along with live fire demonstrations and fire extinguisher training, vehicle extrication demo and fire dept. tours.
The event will also feature a basket raffle held by the Plover Fire Auxiliary.
One of the area’s medical helicopters will make an appearance at the event, weather permitting.
Hot dogs, cheese curds and beverages will be available, along with fire safety activities and kids games — as well as an appearance by the new Plover Police K-9, Ice.
The Plover Fire Dept. is located at 2400 Post Rd. in Plover.
