Skyward, an industry leading administrative software provider, announces Skyward scholarship recipients from Mid-State Technical College and the UW-Stevens Point for the 2016-17 academic year.

Mid-State award recipients include Glen Buth of Marshfield, Dwayne Corry of Nekoosa, Matthew Pfeiffer of Stevens Point, Michael Quisler of Stevens Point, and Derek Brown of Waupaca. All five students are enrolled in the IT software developer or IT network specialist program at Mid-State’s Stevens Point Campus.

Since 2002, Skyward has provided assistance to students enrolled in the information technology programs at Mid-State, with 40 scholarships awarded to date. Each winner received his scholarship during the Mid-State Annual Awards Reception held Thursday, Sept. 1 at Mid-State’s Wisconsin Rapids Campus.

“Mid-State Technical College Foundation appreciates and enjoys our continued partnership with Skyward and its employees,” said Jill Steckbauer, foundation and alumni director at Mid-State. “Mid-State’s strong industry connections and partnerships ensure students are exposed to the most current training and technology. With such support, I get the privilege of seeing the impact these scholarships have on our students every day.”

“The support of individuals and businesses, such as Skyward, helps break down the barrier of high education costs,” Steckbauer added. “Skyward creates hope and reassurance in students that others believe in them, and they can complete their degrees.”

Six UW–Stevens Point students also received scholarships from Skyward this year. The recipients include Samuel Elzinga of Vesper, OnaLi Gudelis of Wisconsin Rapids, Dustin Hasenohrl of Arpin, Noah Hellweg of Stevens Point, Megan Kelly of Appleton, and Anika Tahsin Sardar Sheela, an international student of Bangladesh. All six scholarship awardees are pursuing a degree in computer information systems at the university.

“Skyward and its employees have generously contributed scholarships and support to a number of UW–Stevens Point students,” said Tim Krause, department chair of computing and new media technologies at UW–Stevens Point. “Scholarships are integral in helping students accomplish their academic goals in a timely, cost-effective manner. It also reinforces the fact that our partners value the effort students are putting into their education and their futures.”

Skyward’s academic scholarships are funded through employee donations and company-matched contributions.

For more than 36 years, Skyward has supported the education community by offering administrative technology solutions that allow K-12 school districts around the world to work smarter, respond faster, and empower everyone.
