Amherst will battle Iola-Scandinavia for CWC-8 Title Friday

The Central Wisconsin Conference-8 (CWC-8) Title will be on
the line when the top-ranked Amherst
(6-1, 4-0) High School football team hosts seventh-ranked Iola-Scandinavia
(6-1, 4-0) in its Homecoming Game at 7
p.m.
Friday, Oct. 7.

Sixth-ranked Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) (6-1,
5-1) will travel to play Oshkosh West (1-6, 1-5) at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh at
8:15 p.m. Friday, while eighth-ranked Almond-Bancroft (6-1, 3-1) will look to
clinch a playoff spot when it hits the road to take on Port Edwards (1-6, 1-3)
at 4 p.m. Friday.

Pacelli (2-5, 1-3) will try to keep its playoff hopes alive
when it hosts Bonduel (5-2, 3-2) in its Homecoming Game at 7 p.m. at Community
Stadium at Goerke Field Friday and Rosholt (0-7, 0-5) will be on the road to
face Manawa (3-4, 3-1) at 7 p.m. Friday.

Division 5 top-ranked Amherst wrapped up a spot in the
playoffs with a 42-6 win over Pacelli last week and will have a chance to
clinch at least a share of the CWC-8 Title when it hosts conference co-leader
Iola for Homecoming Friday night.

“It’s exciting,” said Amherst
football head coach Mark Lusic. “They’re coming into our place, it’s
Homecoming, and it’s a chance to at least guarantee yourself a share of the
Conference Title.

“They’re a very good team, and we’re going to have to be on
our ‘A’ game,” he said. “We’re going to have to play better than we did last
Friday night and play one of our best games of the year to beat these guys.”
