Lucille Weiler

Lucille Weiler, 97, Wisconsin Rapids, mother of a Stevens
Point woman, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, at Hilltop Assisted Living in
Wisconsin Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at
Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids, with the Rev.
Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery
in Auburndale.
Memorials may be designated to Our Lady Queen of Heaven
Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids assisted with arrangements.

Mrs. Weiler was born Oct. 2, 1919, in Sigel in Wood County,
the sixth of eight children of the late Joseph and Anna Remitz.
As a young woman, she worked for Normington’s Dry Cleaners.
She was an active Catholic, involved in the Christian
Mother’s Society, and a member and officer in the Altar Society in Auburndale.
She was married to Thomas T. Weiler
May 2, 1941, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Sigel. He died July 5, 2008.
She and her husband raised six children on their family farm
in the Auburndale area.
Survivors include one sister, Grace Kolakowski; five children,
MaryLou Jacunski, Stevens Point, Lois (Edward) Altmann, Wisconsin Rapids,
Donald (Cheryl) Lind Weiler, Wisconsin Rapids, Bob (Pam) Weiler, Albany, Ore.,
and Albert (Kim) Weiler, Auburndale; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Therese
Weiler Ubrig; six siblings, Ann Ashbeck, Roy Remitz, Edna Kundinger, Walter
Remitz, Bob Remitz and Dorothy Hartjes; and one granddaughter.
