The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point campus will be the place to be on July 22-23, 2017 — especially the Point Soccer Bowl.

UWSP head coach Dawn Crow on Oct. 7 announced that the Team First Soccer Academy featuring Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly and Tisha Venturini Hoch is coming to campus next summer.

“We are very happy to welcome these amazing people to our Stevens Point Community,” said Crow. “Having the likes of Mia, Kristine, and Tisha work with our young soccer players is a once-in-a-lifetime type of event and something we want to help facilitate here at UWSP. To have the ability to get our young ladies out to help them as well, is something our girls will never forget. We try to remind our team every day that the game of soccer will go on when you stop playing, but what will your impact be on the next generation of great players. This is their chance to help develop that next generation here in Stevens Point.”

Registration for the camp is currently open with limited availability. The two-day camp costs $300 and each participant will receive a Nike soccer ball, Nike t-shirt, autographed player card and a camp team photo. Youth ages 7-18 are welcome to register and the camp is open to both boys and girls.

Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly and Tisha Venturini Hoch have combined for five Olympic Gold Medals, five World Cup Championships and 12 NCAA titles. The three also combined for four-straight Hermann Trophy recipients with Lilly winning in 1991, Hamm in 1992 and 1993 and Venturini in 1994.
