Irene O’Brien

Irene O’Brien, 85, Plover, a former business owner in
Plover, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016.
A graveside service was held at St. Bronislava Cemetery in
Plover.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 11 a.m. to 2
p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Sky Club in Plover.
A memorial in her name will be established later.

Mrs. O’Brien was born Sept. 29, 1931, in Stevens Point, a daughter
to the late Joe and Johanna (Kaminski) Hamerski. The family moved to Plover
from Custer in 1941.
After graduation from P.J. Jacobs High School, she worked in
Milwaukee.
She was married to Dorr O’Brien Feb. 2, 1952, at St. Rose
Catholic Church in Milwaukee. He died Jan. 8, 2003.
They settled in her hometown of Plover.
She and her husband owned and operated O’Brien Oil Company
in Plover for 36 years. They retired in 1989.
She was active in local government and served on the Plover
Police and Fire Commission.
Survivors include four children, Sandra, Dennis, Dale (Lori)
and Julie (Dan) Snyder; one sister, Gerry (Larry) Stuczynski; six grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren; and one niece.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joey and
Donnie; and two sisters, Marlene and Rita Bannach.
