SPASH, Amherst look to win conference outright in regular-season finale

The fifth-ranked Stevens Point Area Senior High School
(SPASH) football team (7-1, 6-1) will look to win the Valley Football
Association (VFA) Southern Division Title outright when it hosts Hortonville (6-2,
5-2), while top-ranked Amherst (7-1, 5-0) will have a chance to claim the
Central Wisconsin Conference (CWC-8) Title outright when it travels to play
Wittenberg-Birnamwood (2-6, 0-5) in the regular-season finale Friday, Oct. 14.
Eighth-ranked Almond-Bancroft (7-1, 4-1) will host Manawa (4-4,
4-1) in a battle for second place in the CWC-10 at 7 p.m. Friday, while Pacelli
(2-6, 1-4) will play its last game of the season at Shiocton (3-5, 2-3) at 7
p.m. Friday and Rosholt (0-8, 0-6) will host Bonduel (6-2, 4-2) in its final
game at 7 p.m. Friday.
SPASH (6-1) currently holds a one-game lead in the VFA
Southern Division over Hortonville (5-2) and Fond du Lac (5-2) and can claim the
Conference Title outright when it plays Hortonville at
Friday.
“I want to see our team play the best we’ve played all
year,” said SPASH football head coach Pete McAdams. “I want to see us play like
we’re a championship-caliber ballclub.”
