Thomas A. Garski, 69, Custer, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt, with the Rev. Jeffrey Hennes officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Pisarski Funeral Home in Stevens Point from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, with a rosary prayed at 7 p.m., and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the Mass.

Mr. Garski was born Aug. 5, 1947, a son to Elizabeth
(Goszkowicz) Garski and the late Felix Garski. He was a 1965 graduate of
Rosholt High School.

He entered the U.S. Army Dec. 31, 1964, in Milwaukee, and
served as a combat engineer. He earned the National Defense Service Medal. He
was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant Dec. 4, 1967, at Fort Dix, N.J.

He was married to Bonita Ostrowski.

He later married Doreen Schultz. She died Dec. 4, 2004.

He had worked for Jerzak Trucking and Struck & Irwin
Trucking. He then owned Tomek’s Tavern in Rosholt. For the past 12 years, he
has been the caregiver to his son, Chase.

He was also a member of American Legion Post 509 and Polish Legion
of American Veterans Post 185.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne (Diane) and Chase; his mother,
Elizabeth Garski; and 10 siblings, Rita Jerzak, Florian (Diane), Alice
Klopatek, Robert (Betty), David (Minnie), Carl (Linda), Lucy (Darrel) Kluck,
Jane (Arty) Kedrowicz, Debra Yenter and Joseph.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Joanie Wiza; and
one brother, George.
