The WIAA has released its 2016 Volleyball tournament brackets, with SPASH slated to compete in the Chippewa Falls sectional.

The Panthers kick off tournament play as the No. 9 seed in the sectional one bracket and will play No. 8 seeded Hudson at Hudson High School on Thursday, Oct. 20 in the regional opener. First serve is scheduled for 7 PM.

The winner advances to play No. 1 seeded D.C. Everest Saturday, Oct. 22 at Everest. Game time is 7 PM.

Other teams competing in the DCE half of the bracket include Eau Claire Memorial, New Richmond, Wausau East and Marshfield.

River Falls is the No. 2 seed in the bracket and will play the winner of a game between Wausau West and Chippewa Falls. Other teams in the River Falls half of the bracket include Superior, Menomonie, Eau Claire North and Wisconsin Rapids.

Sectional semi-final games will be played at the SPASH Fieldhouse on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 5 PM and 7 PM.

The sectional championship game is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29 at Chippewa Falls High School. The state tournament runs Thursday, Nov. 3 through Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
