Club to Hold ‘Learn to Curl’ Events
For the City Times
The Stevens Point Curling Club is holding four free Learn to Curl events through Oct. 26.
Participants will learn the basics of this Olympic sport and spend about an hour trying it out on the ice, with the help of SPCC’s volunteer instructors.
Beginners are also welcome to join the club’s daytime and evening adult leagues as well as youth, high school, and college programs. All ages and abilities are welcome.
Sessions are being held on Thursday, Oct. 20, 6 PM to 8 PM; Saturday, Oct. 22, from 1 PM to 3 PM; and Monday, Oct. 24, from 6 PM to 8 PM.
A special ladies night will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 6 PM to 8 PM, open to all girls and women.
The club will provide all necessary equipment.
Participants should dress warmly, wear soft-soled shoes or sneakers — indoor or gym shoes are ideal — and wear athletic pants.
All sessions will be held at the Stevens Point Curling Club, 1628 Country Club Dr. (enter the Country Club driveway and look for the first building on your right). For more information about the Learn to Curl events, please contact [email protected] or visit https://pointcurling.org.
