SPASH CC Runs Away at Standing Rocks Sectional

Panthers boys and girls teams will continue to the WIAA Division 1 state meet next Saturday after winning the Standing Rocks sectional.

SPASH Panther Ricky Perez was the individual champion in the boys’ race, finishing in 16:10. Other scoring runners were Dereck Franz in fourth, Liam Belson in sixth, Mark Stoskopf in seventh and Monty Flatoff in 13th place.

Chad Franz and Mason Meixner also placed ahead of their competitors, finishing 14th and 16th, respectively.

SPASH finished with 31 points will both be competing in the state meet next Saturday at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.

Panther girls also won the meet with 56 points. Madeline Hyland was first in for SPASH at 19:37. Other scoring runners were Grace Belson in eighth place, Madelyn Schneider in 10th, Mya Zajakowski in 13th and Carly Olsen in 19th.

Rounding out the team was Kaylee Newland in 23rd and Miranda Debot in 35th.

Division 3 also ran at Standing Rocks to earn a spot at the state meet. Rosholt and Amherst boys will run at state, as well as girls from Rosholt and Wittenberg-Birnamwood.
