LETTER: Trump Isn’t as Bad as Mainstream Media Claim

To the Editor-

I can’t read the newspaper or watch television without seeing or hearing something negative about Donald Trump. And no it’s not always self-inflicted. Yes, he is rich, arrogant, opinionated, gruff and outspoken to say the least.

But, why would he ever want to run for president when he already has everything he wants in life including the power that great wealth brings about? Besides more money which I doubt it is, I can only think of one reason. He’s doing it because he wants our nation to get back to when we were the most successful and greatest and most powerful nation in the world!

Donald Trump (sharing words publicly spoken by the Rev. Valton Douglas and some of my own) did not: Raise our taxes, quadruple the price of food, start a race war, leave any US soldiers in Benghazi to be slaughtered and desecrated by terrorists, send the US Navy to fight for Syrian Al-Qaeda, arm ISIS who exterminated Christians throughout the Middle East, betray Israel, provide financing and technology to Iran’s nuclear weapons program, give our military secrets to China, shrivel our military, and betray our veterans, cripple our economy, increase our debt to 20 trillion dollars, ruin our nation’s credit, doubled the African American unemployment rate compared to the White unemployment rate, allow the large number of illegal immigrants to enter the US which decreases the amount of dollars available for our most needy and for legal immigrants, increase welfare to a record level for eight years, free all of the terrorists in Guantanamo bay, bypass Congress by making presidential executive orders one which was not upheld by the Supreme Court and established Obama Care, without the approval of Congress, which is crippling small business and causing insurance premiums to skyrocket.

These are not all inclusive of the problems that we are facing today that has evolved in the past 8 years or so. The current party in office ran their campaign on change. This is not the kind of change I think most of us wanted.

The media controls the news and chooses what they want us to see and hear. They are not party neutral as one would believe they would be. That’s very apparent.

Please vote. Let your conscience be your guide. But don’t blame Trump for the problems our nation is facing today. He did not cause these problems and we all know who did. Let’s say enough to the status quo.
