Cale and Julia Jakusz, along with Brook Nagorski and her brother Owen — students at Pacelli Catholic Schools — rake a yard in Stevens Point on Oct. 22, part of the annual United Way’s Make A Difference Day Rake-a-thon.
Nearly 1,000 volunteers came forward on Saturday to rake yards for more than 150 elderly or disabled residents across the county, according to the United Way Volunteer Center’s Facebook page.
Refreshments for volunteers were provided by Big Apple Bagels, Dunkin Donuts, Rockman’s Catering and Diversi-Tea LLC.
