David D. Timm, 76, a town of Grant native and former West
Allis resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, while under hospice care at
Brookfield Rehabilitation and Specialty Care in Brookfield after a long
struggle with congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease.


Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in New
Berlin from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, followed by a prayer service at 2
p.m.


A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31,
at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran
Parish Cemetery.


Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Monday until
the service.


A memorial will be established at a later date.


Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.taylorfuneralhome.com.


Mr. Timm was born Aug. 3, 1940, in the town of Grant in Portage
County, a son of the late Daniel and Alice (Arndt) Timm. He graduated from
Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids in 1958.


He earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Whitewater
State University in 1962 and later earned a master’s degree in education administration
from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.


He taught sixth-graders in the West Allis-West Milwaukee
School District for 33 years until he retired in 1995.


He was a past member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner (town
of Grant, Portage County) and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in West
Allis until his death.


He was also a member of the Wisconsin Education Association
Council and Wisconsin Retired Educators’ Association.


Survivors include one sister, Lois (Ronald) Rogney,
Wisconsin Rapids; one brother, John (Lori) Timm, Irma; four nephews; four
nieces; seven great-nephews; and four great-nieces.


He was also preceded in death by one sister, Delores
Trumbower.
