Barbara J. Christensen, 88, Nekoosa, mother of a three Portage County residents, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa, with the Rev. John Swing officiating.

Visitation will be at the church from 2:30 p.m. Wednesday until the service.

Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home of Nekoosa assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.ritchayfuneralhome.com.

Mrs. Christensen was born May 27, 1928, in Tomahawk, a
daughter of the late Carl and Bernadette (Schlatterer) Stoke.

She was married to Mark Christensen Oct. 12, 1948, in
Wisconsin Rapids. He died Feb. 28, 1996.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include 10 children, Mark (Marilyn Burkle)
Christensen, Lexington, Ky., Nora Sinnen, Wisconsin Rapids, Eric (Karin)
Christensen, Kenosha, Peter Christensen and John (Jeanne) Christensen, Barbara
(Monte) Waymeier, all of Nekoosa, Joel (Penny) Christensen, Plainfield, Carl
Christensen and Roderick (Lori Coyle) Christensen, both of Bancroft, and Mary
Hirst, Stevens Point; 22 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, David; three
brothers, Tommy, Buddy and Bob Stoke; and two sisters, Sally O’Connor and Cathy
Wooley.
