Carol I. Becker, 95, Iola, a longtime second-grade teacher, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at the Iola Living Assistance in Iola.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola, with the Rev. Dennis Olson officiating. Burial will be in Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Scandinavia in Waupaca County.

Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the services.

Voie Funeral Home in Iola assisted with arrangements. Condolences
may be offered online at www.voiefuneralhome.com.

Mrs. Becker was born Feb. 27, 1921, in Iola, a daughter of
the late Melvin and Cora (Forseth) Norby.

She was married to Harold “Harry” Becker Dec. 22, 1964, at Our
Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola.

She was a lifelong resident of Iola. She attended a one-room
country school before graduating from the Iola High School in 1938.

She graduated from Stevens Point Normal School in Stevens
Point in 1940. She graduated from Stevens Point State College in 1960 with a Bachelor
of Education degree.

She was a grade school teacher for 39 years, mostly in the second
grade. She taught in the Iola area for 16 years; Hammond, Ind., one year; and
the remaining 22 years in Waupaca.

After retirement, she was involved in visiting the residents
at the Iola Living Assistance and did volunteer work for the church, as
chairman of the mailing committee. For many years she volunteered her time
working in the Tower for the Old Car Shows and serving at the Norwegian Supper
at the Winter Carnivals.

She was a lifelong member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in
Iola.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Becker; two sisters-in-law,
Ruth Johnson and Carolyn Becker; two nephews; and five nieces.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Delores
Johnson.
