Lorraine E. Packer, 99, Amherst, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2016,
at Iola Living Assistance in Iola.


A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov.
5, at the Nelsonville Lutheran Church in Nelsonville, with the Rev. Dwight
Anderson and the Rev. Dr. Brian Konkol officiating. Burial will be at the
Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery.


Visitation will be at the church from 11:30 a.m. Saturday
until the service.


A memorial has been established in her name.


The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.hollyfuneralhome.com.


Mrs. Packer was born April 23, 1917, in the town of Amherst
in Portage County, a daughter of the late Elmer and Pearl (Rollefson) Johnson.


She was married to Claire D. Packer July 16, 1933, in
Amherst. He died Oct. 15, 1991, after 58 years of marriage.


She was a lifelong member of Nelsonville Lutheran Church, a member
and past president of the Nelsonville Ladies Aid, a member of the Sons of
Norway and was the Nelsonville Sunday School superintendent for many years.


Survivors include seven children, Barbara Ogden, Manchester,
Iowa, Evelyn Lee, Plymouth, Minn., Richard (Linda) Packer and Judy (George)
Konkol, Amherst Junction, Peggy Packer, Amherst, Jean (Terry) Schwirtz, Almond,
and Nancy Packer, Portland, Ore.; one daughter-in-law, Jerrilee Packer,
Rockhill, S.C.; one brother, the Rev. Roger (Karen) Johnson, Brandon, S.D.; 20
grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 36 great-great-grandchildren.


She was also preceded in death by one son, Gary Packer; one
sister, Aileen Alm; four brothers, Norris Johnson, Harold Johnson, Donald
Johnson and the Rev. Eldred Johnson; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
