Gloria M. Westenberger

Gloria Marie Westenberger, 90, Cape Coral, Fla., a former longtime
Stevens Point resident, died at her home Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2016.
A private family service is planned.
The former Gloria Rybicke was born Aug. 8, 1926.
She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point and became a teacher.
She was married to Richard “Dick” Westenberger, a part-owner
of Westenberger’s Drug Store in downtown Stevens Point, 66 years ago.
She first taught at the Lac du Flambeau Indian Reservation.
After she gave birth to two children, she returned to teaching at St. Stephen
School in Stevens Point. She later took a job in the Title One Reading Program
in the Steven Point Public School System where she remained until retirement.
She and her husband retired to Florida, continuing to spend
half of the year in Waupaca.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; two sons, Erich and
Kurt; one sister, Mickey (Colleen) Petranek; one daughter-in-law, Laura; and three
grandchildren.
