Rosholt girls cross country places third at state

After missing out on a trip to state last year, the Rosholt
High School girls cross country
team finished third at the WIAA Division 3 State Meet at The Ridges Golf Course
in Wisconsin Rapids Saturday, Oct.
29.
The fourth-ranked Hornets ended up with 152 points, while
second-ranked Darlington had 89 points and knocked off top-ranked and
three-time defending State Champion Oshkosh Lourdes (93) for the State Title.
“I feel like we worked so hard all season, and to get to
where we are it’s pretty amazing,” said senior Lexi Cordova. “It’s great that
we got to come back and do better than we did last time.”
“We honestly felt we could run with Darlington, and I
figured Lourdes was going to run away from everybody, and they didn’t,” said
Rosholt cross country head coach Mike Trzebiatowski. “But the girls are happy.
“The three seniors are leaving with at least the highest
team place we’ve had in a long time,” he said.
