SPASH travels to second-ranked Bay Port, Amherst hosts for Level 3

The fifth-ranked Stevens Point Area Senior High School
(SPASH) football team (10-1, 7-1) will hit the road to take on second-ranked
Bay Port (11-0, 9-0) for a trip to the WIAA Division 1 State Semifinals, while
top-ranked Amherst (10-1, 6-0) will host ninth-ranked Winnebago Lutheran (9-2,
4-2) in a Division 5 Level 3 matchup at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4.
The second-seeded Panthers pulled out a 41-27 win over
third-seeded Hudson (8-3) in the Level 2 Playoffs at home last Friday, and will
travel to take on top-seeded Bay Port at 7 p.m. Friday.
“We’re excited for the opportunity to keep on playing,” said
SPASH football head coach Pete McAdams. “For the most part this season, we’ve
been focusing on us improving and being the best SPASH football team we can be,
and that’s not going to change at all going over there.
“The last three games we’ve been at home, so going back on
the road will be a challenge for us and a good test of our maturity and our
focus,” he said. “We’re going up against a very good team, and I think the ball
security and special teams are going to play a big role.”
