Chester Stephen “Chet” Wojtalewicz, 93, Stevens Point, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at his home while under the care of Heartland Hospice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, with the Rev. Gregory Michaud officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Shuda Funeral Chapel – Stevens Point from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, with a general rosary prayed at 7 p.m., and at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

Mr. Wojtalewicz was born Dec. 22, 1922, in the town of
Sharon, a son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Wisnewski) Wojtalewicz. He
attended local schools.

He began working at the Consolidated Papers mill in
Wisconsin Rapids, later for the railroad and also did various construction
work.

He was married to Lorraine “Florence” Wrycha Nov. 18, 1944,
at St. Mary Church in Torun. She died Nov. 18, 2015, on the couple’s 71st
wedding anniversary.

The couple owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of
Dewey until their retirement in 1986.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Holy Name Society and
Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include 12 children, Dennis (Jeanette)
Wojtalewicz, Leroy (Faye) Wojtalewicz, Dorothy (Len) Wisinski, Eugene (Tina)
Wojtalewicz, Barb (Fred) Lepak, Kathy (Chris) Tessen, Donna (Walt) Adamic, Mike
(Carmen) Wojtalewicz, Roger (Karen) Wojtalewicz, Diane (Steve Roberts) Rossin,
Lori (Bob) Schultz and Jim (Tammy) Wojtalewicz; one brother, Emil (Angeline)
Wojtalewicz; one sister, Theresa (Edward) Losinski; 41 grandchildren; and 27
great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, Ron and Paul; five
brothers, Roman, Joseph Jr., Ben, Edwin and Emerick Wojtalewicz; and six
sisters, Teckla Hoffman, Emma Ostrowski, Regina Janiszewski, Alvina Marchel,
Stella Cychosz and an infant sister.
