Grace M. Somers, 92, of Polonia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at Maple Ridge in Plover, with her loving children by her side.

She was born on Dec. 16, 1923, and was the last surviving child of the late Joseph and Martha (Lilla) Kozelek. On June 5, 1948, she was married to Gregory F. Somers at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 2012.

Grace was a devout Catholic who began and ended every day with prayer. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society for over 50 years. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially ponczkas and cream puffs. What gave her the most pleasure was being able to share the things she made with family and friends. Her Sunday dinners will never be forgotten. She also enjoyed a game of cards and her casino trips with her son, John.

Survivors include her sons and daughter, Joe (Yetta) of Polonia, James (Judy) of Polonia, John of Wisconsin Rapids, and Jacqueline (Ken) Adamski of Polonia; grandchildren, Jodi (Brandon) Schuster, Andy (Lindsey) Somers, Nick Somers, Mike (Amber) Somers, Holly Somers, Abbie Adamski, and Alex Adamski; and great-grandchildren, Maguire and Wyler Schuster, Olivia Somers, Elijah, Isaac and Leah Somers.

In addition to her parents and husband of 64 years, Grace was preceded in death by her son, Jerry in 1979; and her 12 siblings, Felix, Edward, Albert, Gertrude, Mary, Eleanore, Bertha, Leo, Michael, Esther, Loretta and Bernadette.

Our gratitude to the staff at Maple Ridge Assisted Living, Community Care Connections and Ministry Health Care for their care and compassion to Grace and our Family.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, with the Rev. Michael Radowicz officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until the time for Mass. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be assisting the family.
