Kurt L. Henning
Kurt L. Henning, 52, Lexington, Ky., a Stevens Point native
and son of a Stevens Point couple, died unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016.
Funeral services were held in Lexington, Ky.
A future gathering to celebrate his life will be held in the
Stevens Point area at a later date.
Mr. Henning was born March 3, 1964, in Janesville, a son of
Lester and Suzanne Henning. He graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior High
School in 1982.
He attended Mid-State Technical College.
He was married to Mary Shulfer. She died Sept. 18, 2010.
He worked for many years in the movie theater business, with
management roles beginning at Campus Cinema in Stevens Point and then a theater
in Menominee in the early and mid-1980s. He then opened and was the general
manager of the Cedar Creek Theater in Schofield before moving to open and
manage a new megaplex facility in Lexington, Ky., for Regal Theaters Corp.
Survivors include three daughters, Rachel, Lisa (Patrick
Pearson) and Rebekah Henning, Kentucky; his parents, Lester and Suzanne
Henning, Stevens Point; his girlfriend, Diana Watkins, Lexington, Ky.; one
brother, Gregg (Diane) Henning, Stevens Point; and his parents-in-law, Donald
and Hazel Shulfer, Amherst.
