Ronald ‘Ron’ Bacon

Ronald “Ron” Bacon, 73, Stevens Point, died Friday, Nov. 11,
2016, at North Haven Living Center, where he resided the past year.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday,
Nov. 18, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be in St. Stephen Parish Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Friday until
the Mass.

Mr. Bacon was born Aug. 17, 1943, in Janesville, a son of the
late Floyd and Theresa (Lyke) Bacon. He graduated from high school in
Janesville.
He entered the U.S. Navy Oct. 3, 1966, in Madison. During
his service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service
Medal (2 stars), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and a
Meritorious Unit Commendation Award (1 star). He was honorably discharged Jan.
2, 1971, from the U.S. Naval Station in San Diego, Calif.
After his discharge, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville
and then UW-Stevens Point.
After college, he remained in Stevens Point and made it his
home.
He was married to Anita Coleman Oct. 17, 1977, in Stevens
Point.
He was the bar manager at the Blue Top for 17 years before
opening and operating Frames & Things – Pampered
Stamper with his wife until retiring in 2007.
He was a scoutmaster for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Anita; two sons, Kevin (Maria)
Bacon and Daniel (Brittany Longstaff) Bacon, both of Stevens Point; two
stepsons, Bob (Ann Spohn) Belmore, Minocqua, and Jim Belmore, Colombia, Mo.;
one brother, Darrell Bacon, Janesville; and 12 grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, John.
