Mary ‘Manetta’ Helbach

Mary “Manetta” Helbach, 87, Stevens Point, died unexpectedly at her home Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Holy Spirit Parish in Stevens Point, with the Rev. James Kurzynski officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin Cemetery in the town of Buena Vista.
Visitation will be at Pisarski Funeral Home in Stevens Point from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, and at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the Mass. A rosary will be prayed at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Helbach was born April 6, 1929, in the town of Lanark, a
daughter of the late Anthony and Hazel (Jones) Riley.
She was married to William Helbach Nov. 11, 1944, at St.
Patrick Catholic Church in the town of Lanark. He preceded her in death.
After the marriage, the couple settled in Almond where they
raised their seven children and were employed as farmers before moving to their
present address in 1972.
She was employed at St. Michael’s Hospital for 22 years,
retiring in 1994.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph (Mary Kay), Stevens
Point, and Riley (Marlene) and Patrick Helbach, both of Almond; three
daughters, Anne (Stanley) Gliscinski, Almond, Nancy (Keith) Wirtz, Rudolph, and
Colleen Raschka, Stevens Point; two sisters, Nedra Christensen, Waupaca, and
Sharon (Jerry) Kurzynski, Amherst; two brothers, Dean Riley, Waupaca, and
Richard Riley, Georgia; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three
great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Terry; her stepmother,
Edna Riley; one brother, Ronald; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
