The Stevens Point Board of Public Works on Monday will hear a proposal on the installation of cell phone antennas in the city’s right-of-way.
The proposal is being made by Mobilitie, a Newport Beach, Cali.-based company, which is reportedly the primary vendor for Sprint.
The proposed sites are located on the west side of Isadore St., with one at the Fourth Ave. intersection, and the other at the intersection of Maria Drive. According to city documents, the pole and antenna would top out at just over 75 feet in height.
According to Scott Schatschneider, director of public works, a representative from Mobilitie will be presenting before the committee in December
“However, I wanted the Board of Public Works and the Common Council to have an initial conversation regarding this topic,” Schatschneider said in a memo to the committee.
The Board of Public Works meets at 6 PM in the Lincoln Center, 1519 Water Street.
