Fifth-ranked SPASH falls to Kimberly in State Semifinals

The Stevens Point Area Senior
High School (SPASH) football team’s season came to an end Friday, Nov. 11, one
step shy of the WIAA Division 1 State Championship Game.
The fifth-ranked Panthers
(11-2) ran into top-ranked and three-time defending State Champion Kimberly
(13-0), which scored three unanswered touchdowns to win 28-7 at Titan Stadium
on the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus.
Not only is Kimberly’s
winning streak of 55 games the longest in state history, but it’s currently the
longest for any high school in the country.
“I really do believe our
players believed in themselves, coming into this game,” SPASH football head coach
Pete McAdams said. “But Kimberly is a heck of a ballclub, heck of a program.”
