Gib Zinda, from the Portage Co. Wildlife Fund, shakes hands with Prime Water Anglers President Denny Church.

The two men met on Nov. 16, along with other members of PWA, for the official opening of a new fishing pier at Bukolt Park.

The pier is the fourth of five handicap-accessible fishing piers at the park. The fifth pier, which will be the second such platform on the southern end of the park’s lagoon, has yet to secure a sponsor.

PWA Vice President Jeff Rautio said each of the piers cost about $1500 to construct and install. The club plans to install the last fishing pier sometime in spring of 2017.

For more information, or to contribute to the cost of the pier, contact Prime Water Anglers on Facebook.
