Carol ‘Mimi’ Coy

Carol “Mimi” Coy, 69, Stevens Point, died Monday, Nov. 21,
2016.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 28,
at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Steve Hulke
presiding.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until
the service.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran School.

Mrs. Coy was born Nov. 18, 1947, in Hammond, Ind., a
daughter of the late Albion and Mildred Schultz. She grew up in Lansing, Ill.,
where she attended the local grade school and graduated from Thornton
Fractional High School in 1966.
She was married to Jim Coy Feb. 10, 1968 at St. John
Lutheran Church in Lansing, Ill. He died in 2009.
She worked several small jobs in the Chicago area before
becoming employed with the publication House Beautiful Magazine.
She and her husband moved to Wenona, Ill., where she raised
their family.
After her husband’s retirement, they settled in Varna, Ill.,
on Lake Wildwood.
After her husband’s death, she moved to Clinton, Ill., to be
closer to her family. She settled in the Stevens Point area in 2015.
Survivors include one daughter, Alicia (Thomas) Johnson; one
sister, Jan (Jim) O’Boyle; six grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
