Kathleen A. Brekke, 81, Stevens Point,
died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016,
at Brookdale Assisted Living while under the care of Heartland Hospice.


A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Pisarski Funeral Home in Stevens
Point, with Deacon Art Schaller officiating. Burial
will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.


Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 2, and again from 9:30 a.m.
Saturday until the service. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.


Memorials may be directed to the family.

Mrs. Brekke was born March
6, 1935
, in Stevens Point,
a daughter of the late Sylvester “Fuzzy” and Mae Jurgella. She graduated from St.
Joseph Academy
in 1953.


She worked at Jurgella’s Supermarket, Citizens Bank, the city
of Stevens Point and then spent many
years with the Stevens Point School System.


She was married to Allan D. Brekke Nov. 22, 1958, in Neillsville. He died March 8, 1997.


They lived in Superior,
Waupaca and returned to Stevens Point,
settling on Jefferson Street.


She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and
she and her husband were involved in the Elks Club for many years.


Survivors include four children, Sherri (Tim) Kennedy,
Mosinee, Ann Marie Roberge, Fridley, Minn., Cindy (David) Faillaci, Algonquin,
Ill., and Mary Beth (Mark) Olson, Alma Center; one sister, Barbara (Dick)
Purcell, Stevens Point; 14grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.


She was also preceded in death by one brother, Sal Joe
Jurgella; one sister, Marge Corcoran; and one granddaughter.
