UWSP men’s basketball team set for home opener Tuesday
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) men’s
basketball split a pair of games last weekend, as they lost to second-ranked Christopher
and beat Lynchburg
(Va.) at the
Hoopsville National Invitational Classic in Owings Mills,
Md., Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18 and 19.
The Pointers (1-2) will travel to Appleton to take on Lawrence (0-1) at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, and then will host
UW-Superior (1-2) in their home opener at Bennett Court at Quandt Fieldhouse at
7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29.
“It’s the latest home opener that anybody can remember,”
said UWSP men’s basketball head coach Bob Semling. “We’re excited, I know our
guys will be absolutely thrilled to be at home and play in front of our fans.
“Just to get that feeling back again about how special game
days are at UWSP and Quandt Gym and the special environment that our fans
create for us,” he said. “And I know our guys will really embrace that.”
