John Severin Romundson, 84, town of New Hope, Portage
County, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at his residence.


A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3,
at Nelsonville Lutheran Church in Nelsonville, with the Rev. Dwight Anderson
officiating. Interment will be in Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery in Nelsonville.


Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday
until the service.


Voie Funeral Home in Iola assisted with arrangements. Condolences
may be offered online at www.voiefuneralhome.com.


Mr. Romundson was born Oct. 1, 1932, on the family farm in
the town of New Hope, a son of the late Eldora (Sasse) and Nickoli Romundson. He
attended grade school at Loberg School in the town of New Hope and graduated
from Amherst High School.


He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of
Wisconsin-River Falls.


He was married to Ramona Finley June 24, 1955, in North
Prairie, Wis.


He was employed for 50 years for Columbia Machines Inc. as a
salesman in the concrete product industry.


After retirement, he farmed and was an avid collector of
vintage John Deere tractors.


He was a past president of Nelsonville Lutheran Church.


He formed the Sun-Ski Hunting Club with childhood friends,
and they hunted together for 63 consecutive years. He was a member of the Elks
Lodge and Moose Club in Stevens Point.


Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ramona; one son,
Donald Romundson; two daughters, Judith (Brian) Christensen and Barbara
Erickson; one sister, Dorothy Hazelbaker; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.


He was also preceded in death by one brother, William.
