Myron P. “Mike” Orlikowski

Myron Peter “Mike” Orlikowski, 87, Ellis, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at his home while under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, with the Rev. Gregory Michaud officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in St. Martin’s Cemetery in Ellis.
Visitation will be at the Pisarski Funeral Home in Stevens Point from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the Mass. There will be a parish rosary at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A memorial will be established at a later date.

Mr. Orlikowski was born Feb. 14, 1929, in Stevens Point, a son
of the late Benjamin and Apolonia (Pauline) (Karashinski) Orlikowski and the
stepson of the late Joseph Eckman. He attended St. Peter Grade School, Emerson
Junior High School and P.J. Jacobs High School.
He entered the U.S. Army Oct. 5, 1946, in Chicago, Ill. He
served as a staff sergeant during the Korean War. He was awarded the World War
II Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal of Japan, Korean Service Medal
with one Bronze Battle Star and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably
discharged June 17, 1952.
He was married to Jeanette E. Wysocki Oct. 29, 1951, at St.
Martin Catholic Church in Ellis. She died July 18, 2016.
After the marriage, the couple settled in the town of Sharon
where he owned Mike’s Bar for 17 years. He worked for the Copps Corporation for
many years as a tow motor operator until his retirement in 1991.
He was a member of Polish Legion of American Veterans
Post 185 of Polonia, Berens-Scribner American Legion Post 6 of Stevens Point
and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 30 of Stevens Point.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Orlikowski, Milwaukee;
six sons, Michael (Jacque), Schofield, David (Annette), Riverton, Ill., Thomas
(Patty), Stevens Point, Dale, Ellis, Kurt (Kathy), Plover, and Karl (Marcia),
Custer; one brother, Gerald “Step” Orlikowski, Schofield; one sister, Ramona “Mona”
Kubicki, Stevens Point; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Orlikowski;
one brother, Emerick “Butch” Orlikowski; and six sisters, Evelyn Orlikowski,
Irene Walukones, Dorothy Edwards, Patricia Mrozinski, Ramona Eckman and Lucille
Kubicki.
