UWSP men’s basketball beats Superior 85-65 in home opener
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) men’s
basketball team rolled past UW-Superior in its home opener at Bennett Court at
Quandt Fieldhouse Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Following a 69-50 win at Lawrence University (0-2) Saturday,
Nov. 26, the Pointers got out to a 30-10 lead in the first half on Superior
(1-4) and went on to a 85-65 win to improve to 3-2 on the season.
UWSP will have 10 days before its next game, when it travels
to face 15th-ranked Hope (3-1) in Holland, Mich., Saturday, Dec. 10.
“It’s great to be 3-0 after an 0-2 start,” said UWSP men’s
basketball head coach Bob Semling. “We had a really good win at Lawrence and
then we didn’t play great (against Superior), but we took care of business and
got started 1-0 at home.”
