Playhouse Theatre Presents ‘A Christmas Story – The Musical’

For the City Times
The Playhouse Theatre Group will present “A Christmas Story – The Musical” at SPASH Theater on Dec. 2 and 3.
The story centers around nine-year-old Ralphie Parker, who wants only one thing for Christmas: an official Red Ryder Range Model Carbine Action BB Gun. There’s just one problem — everyone else is convinced he’ll shoot his eye out.
Undeterred, he begins his saga of convincing all the necessary players, from his sweet but protective mother, to his straight-laced teacher Miss Shields, and all the way to Santa Claus himself, that he needs that gun for the protection of his loved ones, and maybe even a little cowboy glory to call his own.
The show opens at 7 PM on Dec. 2. On Dec. 3, the show will be performed at 2 PM and 7 PM.
Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for kids, teachers and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at www.playhousetheatergroup.com.
To add a festive touch to the Christmas Story experience, the Playhouse Theatre Group will be holding an Ugly Sweater contest at each performance, and Santa will also make an appearance before each show for pictures at the Playhouse photo booth.
