Gertrude T. Slagowski

Gertrude T. Slagowski, 96, Stevens Point, died Sunday, Dec.
4, 2016, at the Atrium Rehab Facility while under the care of Ministry Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday,
Dec. 9, at St. Peter Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dennis Stanchik
officiating. Burial will be at Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation was scheduled at Pisarski
Funeral Home in Stevens Point from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, with a parish
rosary at 7 p.m., and in the St. Faustina Room of the church from 9:30 a.m. Friday
until the Mass.

Mrs. Slagowski was born Jan. 26, 1920, in Stevens Point, a daughter
to the late Peter and Helen (Stanczyk) Zakrzewski. She attended St. Peter Grade
School.
She was married to Maximilian Slagowski June 8, 1946, at St.
Peter Church. He died June 18, 2004.
After the marriage, the couple settled in Stevens Point.
During World War II, she worked at Lullaby Furniture
Manufacturer. After the war, she was a homemaker.
She was a member of the St. Peter Rosary Society.
Survivors include three children, Carol (Gary) Check, Thomas
(Pamela) Slagowski and Cheri (John) Johnson, all of Stevens Point; six
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Richard; one
sister, Evelyn Konopacky; and four brothers, Emeryck, Adam, Lawrence and Ernie Zakrzewski.
