Following two decisive wins on the road, the SPASH boys basketball team returned to the friendly confines of the SPASH fieldhouse to host Eau Claire Memorial Friday night.

The Panthers started the season with a 54-46 win at Rhinelander, then traveled to Appleton East coming away with a 63-47 victory before knocking off the Old Abes on Parents Night, 61-50. Eau Claire Memorial stands at 1-2 on the season with the loss.

Senior forward Keon’te Williams lit up the board with a game high 23 points to lead the Panthers. Beau Rosenthal scored 14 and Drew Blair chipped in 13 for the Panthers.

“I think we are playing good ball right now but we do need to continue to work a little harder in practice to clean some stuff up,” said Williams.

The Panthers hit 15 two-pointers, five three-pointers and were 16 of 21 at the free throw line.

Junior Cormac Sampson led the Old Abes scoring with 15 points. Tanner Kohlhepp added 12 points. The Old Abes hit 16 two-pointers, five three-pointers and were just three of 12 from the free throw line.

SPASH will put its 3-0 record on the line playing host to De Pere on Tuesday, Dec. 6, then welcome Bay Port to the fieldhouse on Saturday, December 10. Both games are scheduled to tip off at 7:30 PM.

The Panther JV squad pulled out a 50-49 win. Travis Johnson led the Panthers with 17 points. Michael Vitt scored 10, and Evan Vollendorf, nine points to lead the team.
