Annetta Marie “Netta” Behrendt, 94, formerly of the town of Maine in Marathon County, mother of an Amherst Junction man, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

A Funeral Mass will be held at noon Wednesday, Dec. 14, at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Wausau, with the Rev. Robert Thorn officiating.

Visitation will be at the Helke Funeral Home in Wausau from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, and at the church from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until the Mass.

Memorials may be directed to Aspirus Comfort Care and
Hospice Services and or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mrs. Behrendt was born Nov. 2, 1922, in the town of Wien in
Marathon County, a daughter of the late Frederick and Hazel (England) Redmann.
She attended schools in Athens where she graduated from high school.

She was married to Hubert Charles Behrendt Jan. 24, 1942, in
Athens. He died Nov. 3, 1990.

They made their home in the town of Maine where she was a
homemaker.

She was an active member of St. Matthew Catholic Church,
Boot and Saddle Club, ODO Homemaker in the town of Maine, a 4- H Leader and the
Fit and Trim Club (F.A.T.).

Survivors include seven children, Carol Pizon, Fond du Lac,
Sheila Garske, Wausau, Mike (Jean) Behrendt, Amherst Junction, Bill (Mary)
Behrendt, Pleasanton, Calif., and Jeanice Habeck, Jim Behrendt and Laurie Jo
(John) Gering, all of Wausau; two brothers, Fritz and Bobby Redmann, both of
Athens; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by son, John; two sisters,
Betty and Hazel “Sis;” three brothers, Ernie, Bud and Charles; and two
grandsons.
