Sophie A. Kennedy, 86, Appleton, a Stevens Point native and sister of two Stevens Point residents, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Appleton.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Valley Funeral Home in Appleton, with the Rev. Bill Hoffman officiating. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the service.

A memorial fund will be established in her name.

Mrs. Kennedy was born May 8, 1930, in Stevens Point, a daughter
of the late Charles and Minnie (Landowski) Cychosz. She graduated from St.
Joseph’s Academy in Stevens Point in 1948.

She attended college courses at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

She was married to Ronald E. Kennedy 63 years ago.

They resided in Appleton for the past 45 years.

They were members of St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton
for more than 30 years.

Before retirement, she worked for the city of Appleton as
the city attorney’s secretary.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald; three daughters,
Karen Kennedy, Ann (Joseph) Hewitt and Susan Kennedy; two sisters, Loretta Bannach,
Wauwatosa, and Agnes (David) Katzmark, Stevens Point; one brother, Stanley
(Cordelia) Cychosz, Stevens Point; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Omernick; one
infant sister, Lucy; and one brother, Chester Cychosz.
